Half Way Through Soul Eater

•August 7, 2009 • Leave a Comment

So I’m actually more than half way through watching Soul Eater, and am liking it so far except for any episode that has to do with Excalibur. If they were looking to create the most annoying character in an anime series, they succeeded.

As for the series itself, I like how the pace of the main story rarely slows down and they have a nice rag tag group of main characters. I’m up to episode 33, and hope to be done with the series in a week or 2.

One other thing, since the first episode until now, I haven’t liked Maka’s voice. Just doesn’t seem to fit the character.

Know what would have made a better ending for Kannagi?

If Tsugumi really did freak out and took a butcher knife to Jin and Nagi. This whole series was just too over-rated for my liking, and yet I watched it to the end. The comedy was OK, but I literally fell asleep during the last two “serious” episodes.

I’m about half way through this and so far I think it’s severely over rated.

Macross Frontier

After the original Macross series, I never watched any of the other series that came out, but this one definitely caught my attention since due to certain similarities to the original. Overall a great must see series.

HYAKKO!

This was a fun series that probably would have gotten more attention if a bigger company like say KyoAni was animating it. This goes on my list of shows I’d like to see a 2nd season for.

Black Lagoon Season 3!

It’s official! Black Lagoon is getting a 3rd season! and with that, this blog springs back to life as BG was the reason I started it in the first place! I don’t know when it starts yet, but when it does, I’ll do my best to blog it! And maybe throw in a few extras along the way. Stay tuned.

The System Has Failed

So here we are one year into this thing and the first time I’ve posted anything in months!
My original plan when I started this was to blog shows that weren’t being blogged by the other bloggers who chose the talk about the more popular series that everyone else was already talking about. Unfortunately in July I got hitched and started working a new job, and these two new responsibilities combined left me with little time to watch anime let alone blog about it. I’ll probably pop up now and then to chime in with some thoughts on whatever I’m watching, and for now, I’ll give a few quick thoughts and the shows I was watching before my extended absence as I’ve already finished most of them.

Pumpkin Scissors – I would definitely want a second season of this as it ended while barely scratching the surface of the main story.

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge – Definitely one of my favorite series of the year and one that gave me constant laughs. Sure it was overkill having Sunako in chibi mode for most of the series, but it was a lot of fun and they explained a lot of the characters backgrounds (including Sunako’s extravagant aunt), and we even get to meet Sunako’s parents! Just a lot of fun once you look past the art style of the show.

Super Robot Wars Original Generation – Divine Wars – What happened to this series? Stopped watching since the subs stopped.

Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou – I’m actually still watching through this now, and rather surprised at the lack of subs coming out for the second season.

Pumpkin Scissors Ep.18: A Small Force

Shiny Happy People

A very Stekkin centered episode as she tries to raise the spirits of everyone, particularly Oland, after the incident in the sewers. She tries to come up with a song and dance that they could all do together, but finds that it’s too embarrassing and Oland was even petrified when he accidentally saw her practicing! She asks Oreld to try and help since he knows how to enjoy life, but changes her mind when she realizes the types of methods Oreld has in mind for enjoying life. She thinks Machs would be better suited to help, but totally flubs her delivery and mentally scars Machs in the process!

So we hear for the umpteenth time.

So while Alice dukes it out with the Claymores, we get a short flashback on Hans’ life and learn that he can’t take off the suit or he’ll die. Captain Hunks on the other hand tries to cut a deal with Major Connelly to call off the Claymores, but instead finds out that the army is itself interested in dealing Himmel for profit. Back to Alice and she’s able to take out the leader of the Claymores, but she learns that a second team had already been dispatched into the sewers to hunt down Mione and Hans.

Watching but not Blogging

•April 18, 2007 • Leave a Comment

Apologies for the lack of posts for a while now. Just so you all know, I am still watching stuff, I’m just not blogging them cause it’s mostly older stuff I needed to get off my PC. I recently finished watching Innocent Venus, which I thought was pretty good, and am also watching through Ah! My Goddess 2nd season and the more recent hit series Code Geass. Hopefully I’ll get back to business here soon, so stay tuned.
